About Dan

LAW OFFICE OF DANIEL A PACKARD PC IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED BEGINNING MAY, 2022.  THANK YOU TO MY CLIENTS FOR ALLOWING ME TO BE A TRUSTED ADVISOR AND FRIEND.

I’m an attorney and MBA with 25 years of legal experience and 30+ years of accounting and finance experience.  I have two main focuses in my practice, estate planning and nonprofit organizations.  The connection between these two practice areas is charitable giving, since many people want to provide for their church and/or favorite charities, in addition to their family, in their estate plan.

I work carefully with my clients to design custom estate plans which protect my client’s families, and also protect the organizations and causes which are important to them.  You will get your own plan, written entirely by me.  I never use a "cookie cutter" approach.

I am passionate about working with large and small nonprofit organizations (public charities, private foundations, and churches), helping them increase their impact.  I have deep knowledge and experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, governance, legal compliance, and commercial transactions which provide great outcomes.  I also skillfully work with donors who are making lifetime or testamentary gifts, in order to best structure those gifts to honor the intent of the donor and to be of maximum benefit to the organization.

I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I have lived in Arizona for 34 years.  I’ve been in Phoenix since 1996.  Prior to that, I went to college in Tucson and earned three degrees from the University of Arizona.  I learned to practice law by working as an associate in a large Tucson law firm, and I've had my own firm for 23 years.  I've also worked for Arizona State University and was one of the original supervising attorneys at the ASU Alumni Law Group, in charge of training new ASU law grads in nonprofit organization law, general business law, and estate planning.  I’ve been very involved in the Phoenix community, having leadership positions in numerous Phoenix-area nonprofit organizations for 20 years, and I’m an alum of Valley Leadership Class 37.  I know the importance doing what I can to make a positive difference in the lives of people.  I love being able to make this kind of a difference in the community, and those values guide my life and my practice of law.

No matter what type of help you need, I will give you the highest quality personal service and do it at a fair price with great value.  I’m focused on building lasting relationships with my clients, treating them the same way I’d treat my family, and I look forward to being your lawyer.
